Filming and photographing

The National Library of Poland enables the use of its collections (via photographing and filming) in book and press publications, as well as in television programs and films. Making available items from the collections of the National Library of Poland for filming, photography, or copying with one’s own equipment outside the National Library of Poland requires special preparation and carries a charge.

Price list

for preparing books, magazines, and documents on social life published after 1801 to be filmed, photographed, or copied my means of the user’s own equipment:

  • books, magazines (not including large-format newspapers) and ephemera 19th-century – 45.00 zł per unit/volume
  • books, magazines (not including large-format newspapers) and ephemera from the period 1901–1939 – 35.00 zł per unit/volume
  • books, magazines (not including large-format newspapers) and ephemera from the period 1940–1948 – 45.00 zł per unit/volume
  • books, magazines (not including large-format newspapers) and ephemera from after 1948 – 35.00 zł per unit/volume
  • large-format newspapers published in the period 1801–1980 – 60.00 zł per unit/volume
  • large-format newspapers published after 1981 – 40.00 zł per unit/volume
  • protected publications, cimelia – 70.00 zł per unit/volume.

Filming and photographing by means of the user’s own equipment takes place in premises designated by employees of the National Library of Poland. It is forbidden to photograph or film collections in the reading rooms.
