The National Library of Poland has presented Kazimierz Orłoś with the Marek Nowakowski Literary Award

For six years, the National Library has given a prestigious award for the authors of short stories. In 2022, the jury prized Kazimierz Orłoś for lifetime achievement, with particular emphasis on his short stories, in which the laureate attained a mastery documented by many books he has published in 60 years.

Kazimierz Orłoś’s short stories are characterized by artistic virtuosity, beauty of language, use of various narrative styles as well as social, psychological and moral insight.

The statuette and the diploma were presented to the laureate on May 22nd, 2022, during a ceremony that took place in the newly opened reading rooms of the National Library of Poland. It was attended by the representatives of the literary world, media and state authorities.
