The University Library in Poznań boasts the most modern librarian system

The University Library in Poznań (BUP) has implemented the most modern system Alma and has stared co-cataloguing with the National Library, the central library of Poland. A broad co-operation within the national librarian network, possible thanks to unified rules of collections' cataloguing benefits both the libraries’ employees who can manage collections in a more effective way, as well as readers who have gained a broader, quicker and more transparent access to information.
BUP special collections comprise 8000 manuscripts dated 13th through 21st century, 75 thousand volumes of old prints, 430 incunabula as well as manuscripts and prints of music pieces, music-related books and magazines, pieces documenting the music life, analogue records, CDs and tape recorded pieces.
The National Libray as an operator of Priority One, Direction of intervention 1.2, the creation of a country-wide system of libraries through an integrated system of managing libraries’ collections within a multi-national system „Narodowy Program Rozwoju Czytelnictwa 2.0 na lata 2021–2025”, the National Program of Readership Development 2.0 for the years 2021-2025, covers the related costs.
