A Proposal beside the Manuscript of Nad Niemnem? The Palace Brings Book Lovers Together

The Palace of the Commonwealth is a place where visitors encounter the most valuable treasures of Polish and European writing. Sometimes, however, it also becomes the setting for exceptional personal moments.

Last week, at the special request of one visiting couple, we made it possible for a unique marriage proposal to take place.

Among the priceless treasures held by the National Library, one of the most important questions a person can hear in life was asked. The answer was yes.

We are delighted that the Palace of the Commonwealth could provide the backdrop for such a moving moment.

We offer the newly engaged couple our warmest congratulations and wish them many years together, as well as many more literary discoveries.
